Overview
The Remote Sensing and Climate Centre (RSCC) was established in 2013 as a pioneering Centre of excellence to advance multidisciplinary impact base research, develop tailor made products for commercialization, provision of services and applications to drive development in all relevant sectors of the economy. The RSCC has the mandate to be the focal point of all Remote Sensing and Climate related issues for development in Ghana using space science technology and application. The Centre aims to be an international Centre of excellence for Remote Sensing, environmental monitoring, Crop monitoring for food security, atmospheric monitoring and transport for health, Climate information and services, climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The RSCC has qualified, experienced and competent research scientists with vast experience in Climate and Remote Sensing. The experience spans in the use of climate data and Remote Sensing data such as Drone, airbone and satellite for environmental monitoring, protection and reclamation. They have excellent understanding in the use of climate and remote sensing tools and platforms such as ArcGis, QGIS, Envi, Google Earth Engine etc. in acquiring, processing and analysing remote sensing and field data using the programming tools such as R and Python for producing outputs and deliverables.
The Team at the GSSTI has vast experience in project management with a track record in projects with excellent results in executing projects and delivering successful results and scientific publication.
